Jill Taylor
Principal
Jill trained at Laine Theatre Arts, where she achieved major exams in Ballet, Modern, Tap, Drama and National dance. As well as training for a professional theatre career, she took her qualifications in dance teaching with the ISTD and soon found her passion for teaching. After graduating, she began teaching for various dance schools In the North East whilst building up her own school. Jill is passionate about making dance inclusive and most importantly an enjoyable hobby, that will lead to a life long appreciation for the theatre and dance. Jill attends regular CPD training in RAD Ballet, BGU Poms and Cheer, ISTD modern and jazz. ABD musical theatre and Contemporary. And Can-do-Hub training in teaching children and adults with Additional needs. She also attends yearly new safeguarding updates and first aid training. Past students have trained at top London Theatre schools And are working in the industry. Other past pupils now even bring their children to dance with Miss Jill. Jill teaches in various nurseries and state schools as a specialist dance educator.
Julie Bowman
Head of Ballet &
Panto Choreographer
Julie trained in Ballet, Tap and Modern from a young age, completing her RAD and ISTD vocational examinations to Advanced 2 level. After studying A Level Dance at Dame Allan’s, she moved to London to train at the Royal Academy of Dance where she studied a range of modules including Dance History, Anatomy, Performance, Choreography and Dance Educational Contexts. Julie is a Registered Teacher and Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Dance.
Julie graduated with a First Class Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Ballet Education and returned to the North East to complete her Graduate Teacher Programme at Northumbria University, gaining Qualified Teacher Status. In 2011, Julie became the Head of Dance at Central Newcastle High School where she developed a thriving and successful department. Several of Julie’s former students have gone on to have successful careers in the Dance industry.
Alongside teaching in school settings, Julie has taught at the Jill Errington School of Dance and Drama since 2010 and has previously been an examiner of GCSE and A Level Dance. Julie also has a long-standing association with The People’s Theatre Arts Group and has choreographed several productions at The People’s Theatre including musicals, plays and the annual pantomime. Julie thrives on getting the best out of her students and helping them creating new memories and experiences as they nurture and develop their talents.
Juliette Taylor
Commercial, Musical Theatre, Squad, Poms.
Juliette grew up dancing at JETS and when she turned 16 she gained a scholarship to Reynolds performing arts where she trained for 3 years in a musical theatre diploma and gained her DDE in modern theatre. After performing around the UK and france Juliette decided to move home and become a full time dance teacher! Juliette specialises in musical theatre, Poms, Acro, jazz and lyrical. She is our competition team choreographer and coach for both our mini squad and our senior dancers.
Juliette is first aid trained and attends yearly safeguarding training as well as CPD with BGU, the Theatric Awards and more
Juliette is super passionate about creating technical dancers who are also amazing performers who love coming to classes every week whether it’s to make dance their career or just for an escape for an hours class once a week.
